As the winter season approaches, it is important to remember some key facts to staying healthy. There are several simple strategies we can use to keep ailments away. One of the most important steps to staying well is to wash your hands. This helps to protect your immune system and prevent you from developing various illnesses as well as protecting those around us.
The following is a list of other ways to stay healthy this winter season:
-Getting enough sleep
-Maintaining a routine exercise routine
-Increase vitamin intake (e.g. Vitamin C)
-Drink herbal teas such as chamomile and lemon
-Eat foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids (fish, plant seeds, nuts)
-Eat foods with increased fiber and colorful vegetables
-Meditation and Relaxation
A combination of these factors will help to increase your chances of staying well this cold and flu season. Stay healthy and remember to keep those germs to yourself.
